The Reviews Are In — And We’re Going to Spain

It’s been ten days since The Mijas Cowboy was published and the response has been everything I hoped for and more.
Three five star reviews in the first ten days — from readers who genuinely connected with Vince, Alfie, Frankie, Ronnie and Denny.
“Stories about older people that don’t patronise or descend into cliché.”
“A wonderful and heartwarming story of friendship, loyalty, love, loss and keeping old promises. Keeps you hooked until the end.”
When you spend months writing a book in relative isolation, wondering whether any of it works, whether anyone will care — and then a reader says something like that — it makes the whole thing worthwhile.
And then this happened.
On Tuesday 17th November I’ll be joining Hannah Murray on Talk Radio Europe’s Book Show for a fifteen minute Zoom interview about The Mijas Cowboy. Talk Radio Europe broadcasts to the British expat community across Spain and Portugal. Given that the novel is set in Mijas Pueblo — one of the most loved towns on the Costa del Sol — it’s hard to imagine a more perfectly matched audience.
A Welsh novel. A Spanish radio station. I’ll take that.
The Mijas Cowboy is available now in paperback and on Kindle. If you read it and enjoy it an honest Amazon review means the world to an independent author.
